Photography: Beijing's Wangfujing Snack Street

Crawfish, snails and other shellfish
If you have an upcoming trip to China's capital, you simply must go to Wangfujing Snack Street. I think it's a great introduction to what China is all about: the people and the crazy food. When I went there, it was insanely crowded during the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year). In addition to the various seafood, dimsum and fruit treats, souvenirs are all abound too. (Remember to bargain fiercely; you're in China!) Note that the above photo are some of the milder offerings. You can also find live scorpions and dried starfish. Yes, to eat!
