Photography: The Divide between North and South
This is a photo one the wall of the DMZ, the de-militarized zone between North and South Korea. The one near Seoul, of course. I love how the ribbons of peace wishing for reunification contrast with the barbed wires just above it, to prevent North Koreans from seeking asylum (or faster internet connections) to the south. (And I don't imagine any South Koreans in their right state of mind would defect to the north either). Naturally, I became curious as to what lies on the other side of the border. So I raised by hand with my camera and took a shot. I didn't know what I expected to see so I was somewhat surprised to see there was nothing, other than a long, paved road leading to who knows where.
